Do your drinks contain nootropics?
No. While nootropics and other synthetic supplements are interesting, they aren’t suitable for every body, and may not be appropriate for pregnant people. We’re aiming for our drinks to be as inclusive as possible, so we’re leaving those additives out.
Does For Bitter For Worse contain adaptogens?
We don’t use any ingredients that you’d want to know how many milligrams you’re ingesting to ensure efficacy. Also, adaptogens (such as ashwagandha) are cool, but they aren’t suitable for everyone, such as people who are pregnant.
What Are Your Drinks Made With?
Our drinks are vegan, gluten-free, contain no lab-derived ingredients: no natural flavors, no creepy hidden additives, and no preservatives.
Are your drinks Halal?
Because our drinks cannot intoxicate, and because they use homemade extracts that we dealcoholize, For Bitter For Worse drinks are considered halal. We measure the alcohol content of our drinks, and they contain less than 0.5% alcohol by volume, which is less than a ripe banana. They are not fermented, which means that the alcohol content cannot increase after production.
The best way to consider our drinks is to compare them to a product which uses an extract (for example, vanilla extract), but the alcohol has been removed from the extract in our production process.

How is Shipping Calculated?
We offer free UPS ground for orders of $60 or more. For orders under $60, we subsidize most of the shipping cost and charge a small fee based on location. Rush shipping is available at UPS rates. Special winter shipping rates may apply.
Winter Shipping Protocol
Our small team (we’re a family business and there are five of us) takes care and pride in sharing our drinks with you and yours. Winter weather is particularly challenging for non-alc brands—especially those that are low in sugar—because our drinks can freeze and the packaging can burst.
In order to avoid disappointment, when necessary we take the following steps to protect your orders:
1. Wrap the inner box in insulating material and use special long-acting warmers.
2. We ship to the East Coast and Midwestern states Monday – Wednesday.
3. During the most inclement weather, we may pause shipping altogether. We’re not reimbursed for frozen product, and no one wants broken glass and a soggy box.
